West Virginia Fertility Institute is a proud supporter of National Infertility Awareness Week®, (NIAW), taking place April 23-29, 2023. The movement brings together millions of Americans who want to remove the stigmas and barriers that stand in the way of building families.

The goals of the week include enhancing public understanding that infertility needs and deserves attention. Another goal is to help people trying to build a family understand the guidelines for seeing a specialist, and educate lawmakers about how infertility impacts people in their state.

WFVI will take to social media to promote the movement and share stories about the challenges to family building and methods of resolution. There will be daily posts and a few patient stories shared during the week.

“We understand that people feel isolated when they struggle to build a family,” says WVFI director Crystal Hayes, APRN, CNP, “We want to empower them to share their story and find a community and a fertility practice that cares.”

The staff will also rock some ORANGE gear to support of National Infertility Awareness Week. The #WearOrange Campaign was created to help change the conversation around infertility. Whether it’s you, or someone you know who struggles to build a family, #WearOrange!
